was razor ruddock a shot fighter when he faced lewis and morrison ??

I'm not trolling I'm just pointing out facts, Ruddock was on an impressive winning streak but was blown away by the superior Lewis. I know it hurts that your hero couldn't do it but at least you can play with his whizzer. :hi:

 

Since when is going 2-2 in your last four fights an impressive win streak. If you think defeating a total non-entity like Phil Jackson who had never beaten anyone and never would or beating Greg Page who was a decade past his best and hadnt been able to defeat a name fighter in that long either "impressive" then we can agree that you have as much brain damage as Ruddock did after Tyson got done with him.

Just accept the facts that the only reason you nuthuggers cry that he was shot is that you're looking for reasoning and excuses to why your idol couldn't do what the great Lennox Lewis could.

 

Yes, but Ruddock had never done much better than beating the has-beens and never-weres.
For Ruddock, those wins were not far from par for his best.

I think the Dokes KO and the Smith KO are his best wins, maybe a decision over Weaver back in '86.
Smith was past his best and overweight and had Ruddock on the floor.
Dokes hadn't beaten a name fighter in about 7 or 8 years.

The man could punch but there's no indication that he was ever anything much better than the fighter who faced Lewis.

 

Exactly, the nuthuggers make out as though he was some great fighter when facts are he was a decent contender, nothing more nothing less.

 

Tyson destroyed ruddocks feared image. Ruddock himself states Lewis got him at the right time and that the Tyson wars finished him.

Ruddock was only shot according to imbecilic cretins because Lewis did what your idol couldn't and that's knock Ruddock the **** out, he fought Ruddock a whopping YEAR after Tinkerbell Tyson, you're probably right Ruddock was shot after Lewis gave him the beating of his lifetime.

I don't think he was shot, but he was never the same after the brutal beating Tyson gave him in their second fight. Watch it some time. No human being could ever be the same after a beating like that, taking that many hard shots to the body and head from a true puncher. That said, I think Ruddock's defense was better suited to shorter fighters. A long-armed fighter like Lewis could penetrate Ruddock's arms more easily. No doubt Ruddock could still punch after Tyson. But he was never as resilient again.

 

I don't think he was shot going into the Lewis fight but he wasn't the same fighter that he was in the first Tyson fight. Lennox and boxing politics finished him though.

 

First off, I don't see the Mike who beat Ruddock (either time) being the same level of fighter that knocked that hell out of Spinks...or even Bruno.

I think the Mike that beat Ruddock actually would have gotten beat by Bowe and Lewis of that same time, Bowe by decision and Lewis possibly by KO.

I know I'll draw ire writing that, but as much as I greatly admire the Mike of the 80s, he just wasn't that into the next decade. And he seemed worse out of prison.

So, Lewis didn't beat someone who took the Sensational 80s Wunderkind that was (seriously) Iron Mike the distance, he beat someone who'd done surprisingly well against a Mike who'd not too long ago been knocked out by someone Ruddock himself quite possibly would have knocked out.

Not to mention, Lewis was fired up to impress.

So no, Ruddock wasn't shot, he was just never particularly good anyway. That said, Lewis did look quite impressive.
