That's always one of my favourites.

'Ricky is a fake, he's friends with Rio and Rooney....MANCHESTER UNITED PLAYERS!!! OMG!!!'

I like the idea of only hanging around with people who support the same club as you, but it's not realistic.

He seems alright. With all the pubs he's got wasted in over the years, I'm sure there would be more than enough stories about him (especially with his profile) being a t@sser if he really was one. Most people act like an idiot at times when drunk, even the best behaved.

You rarely hear a bad word said about it him...

And by the way, i honestly think if anyone got the publicity he did we'd be the same, its impossible not to be the slight bit arrogant without that....

    BUT......

i still think he was a ***** before he was famous. In fact i guarantee it.

The only time I see Ricky is in normal pubs he is always down in Abbey Hey, Openshaw and Gorton and will speak to anyone and everyone he is a sound lad.

You will also see Ricky at the City games in all the pubs near the ground leading the singing when he could be tucked away in the stadium in the excutive bit.

Also when you spend time talking to him you will see that he never talks in 3rd person.

He only claims to be one of the lads when asked in interviews why he is so popular.

Hmmm... doubtful IMHO. I agree he may play on the "one of the lads" thing a bit too much, but I honestly get the impression he's just desperate not to let people think fame has changed him.

So being the #1 fighter in your division for 4 years doesn't make you world class? So what you're saying is there is no such thing as a world class light welterweight? And there was me thinking that world class meant one of the top fighters in the world. I.e. surely the top 5 or so have to be world class even if by default.

If fame has not changed him people will see that for themselves without him constantly trying to remind us.The fact that he feels the need to emphasise this speaks volumes

From what I've heard he is a sound guy in person, so even though i never liked his boxing style he's alright by me. i don't think theres any denying that he can be a bit twattish in front of a camera sometimes with referring to himself in the third person and that thing he did with Sky Sports before the Pacquiao fight when he collected tickets for his mates in a Del Boy Trotter van, that **** was cringe worthy.

If you say so. A lot of people do try and read hidden meanings into everything he says. My view is that he's just desperate for people to know that he's still the same fella he always was. You've got to remember he (like many boxers) is not the sharpest tool in the box, it likely doesn;t occur that if you over emphasise something some people will start to question it.
