Was Big Daddy Riddy Bowe SHOT VS Andy Golota?? Riddy looked like a sloth-slow shot-to-**** lardass Zombie with no reflexes IMO. Did taking BRUTAL-COMBOS in 3 life-or-death slugging-wars with Holyfield And his growing fast-food/cake addiction make him get SHOT v.quick/young compared to other Heavys? This content is protected Was he even more SHOT in the rematch, cos even though he was 235lb, he used CRASH-DIETING to make weight too quick/unhealthy?? This content is protected
Shot to bloody ****......!!!!!!!!!! The Bowe of just four years earlier would have had Golota's gonads for dinner. Bowe's deterioration was alarming.
I AGREE. :thumbsup Bowe of Holyfield 2 would kill Golota aswell IMO. Do you think larding-up to 300lbs+ between 1994-1996 fights And 32 rounds of slugging with Evander made him shot-to-****,, OR did he take drugs like cocaine And heroin too??
Not sure about the drugs issue, but the constant larding up and taking fat off TOO quickly harmed him,I reckon.
He might've fallen off so hard mostly, or at least in part, from brain damage...sort of like Terry Norris.
Why the **** do you say Riddy and Andy?? WTF is that ****? Anyway, I think Riddick was shot to ****. Prime Bowe would KO Golota faster than anyone had before.
I don't think he was that shot, a little past prime, out of shape, but not shot. He looked good in his prior 3 fights, thought Golota would be a walkover and paid the price for it. Golota always would be a tough fight for Bowe though
To me, shot means, regardless of how good you've been, that you're no longer even formidable. I think he was formidable but past it after the wars and yo-yo weight, etc. In the second fight, he was still formidable even, but much worse. He fought on legs of spaghetti for round after round in that. So, formidable, but not at all as good as he'd been at his best.
No. Definitely on the slide, his reflexes were that step slower for instance. He accelerated his own decline, of course. But not shot, not the way I see 'shot' at any rate. Almost everyone in the division he would have still beaten in '96, but Golota was just not one of them.
He looked good against Holyfield in the 3rd fight? He was flattened by a little check hook. His ability to take a solid shot was gone. He still fought with a lot of heart and determination, but his legs and timing were vastly deteriorated.
With hindsight it's easy to say Bowe was shot, using the way he struggled against Holyfield in their 3rd fight as an example of his decline. But really when had Bowe not stuggled with Holyfield, all 3 fights were close, brutal affairs, so that clearly invalidates the 3rd Holyfield fight as a reasonable argument to confirm him being shot. Bowe was highly regarded at the time and he came in against Golota 12lbs heavier than his last fight at a career high 252lbs. His weight and Golota had much more to do with his defeat in their 1st fight than Bowe being shot. Bowe had clearly declined but was not shot in my opinion. Bowe stuggled when his opponents jabbed and moved like Holyfield in their 2nd fight and when he faced Hide. Golota had the jab, size and mobility to always give Bowe problems. Maybe the Bowe who beat Holyfield in their 1st fight would have beaten Golota handily but every other version would have had a difficult night. As for the second fight, Bowe killed himself to get down to a decent weight, he did well to survive as long as he did, he really only had his heart and his natural fighting instincts left in that match, their was no resemblance to the fighter who became heavyweight champion. And he was definately shot after the brutal beating he took from Golota in that second fight, it was scary how much punishment he took.
