And when Roach said he wanted Khan to be more flat-footed, he just meant that he didn't want him bouncing around constantly and burning his energy - like he did against Peterson and Maidana. He didn't mean 'stay still within punching range and not have your gloves up or head moving'.

This. Khan was getting knocked back to the ropes easily against Peterson because he was bouncing too much.
