Why do you guys mention Duran being such a great fighter when he fought Hagler and then when you talk about his losses to all the legends he was past his prime and washed up? What is going on? You want it both ways Duran was great or washed up? So was Duran a good fighter when he fought Hagler or not? He lost to Hearns and Benitez easily at the same years. Cannot have it both ways. I remember Hagler winning the fight. I remember Hearns knocked Duran cold. I remember Benitez outclassing him. I remember Leonard making him quit. etc etc etc.

Any fighter can be dismissed based on losses. If you watch Duran fight, you wouldn't even ask this question.

Losing competitive fights to hagler, Benitez, is nothing to be ashamed of. And before that he beat leanord. Watch him bro, his record might look like he failed when he stepped up, but he was a beast.

Duran was slick as hell on the inside but could box on the outside. He 's an all round masterpiece, born to fight. As said his offence was blended into his defence with a blink of an eye. Duran is the GOAT at faints. Duran's style was herky jerky but slick and mercurial at the same time. He faint's using every part of his body. It looked quite odd at times but the guy was a master. Duran could have been greater, he only took a handful of fights seriously. His trainers all stated he was a nightmare getting him 100% in shape for a fight. He was a big eater/boozer and like James Toney he hated the cardio side of training. Duran is a stick on top 15 ATG I have him somewhere between 5 and ten. 8 would be fair for me.

Durann lacks the wins to be top 10. Very simple reasoning. We can talk over and over and over, but if you look at his resume and find the great wins to be top 10 or top 15 then tell me. If you say Leonard on a decision then where to you put Leonard??????

what I think is sad is people who go with the belief someone is great because that is what someone else says. Use you own logic to see if Duran is great. Look at the resumes and be fair and look for the proof that someone is so great that they could beat anyone in thier prime!! Did they beat every great fighter in thier prime or did they not?? If not you are overrating a fighter who does not deserve it!! A fighter can be slick against decent fights and lose to all the top fighters he fought!

Dejesus was not great, Leonard was the only great on that whole list and he beat Duran and came out on top on the 3 fights!!!! Cuevas was borderline great there but he was a has been when Duran fought him!!Palomino?? Great? No. Is he in the Hall of Fame? He doesn't deserve it if he is!!!
