Beat Chango Carmona for the wbc lightweight title and held it for a year and half before losing to Guts Ishimatsu. Was he any good?
I think he was outstanding, but then, I saw more of him than what has been available on youtube these past years. There were so many subtle nuances to his game rather than just a big left hook to the body. Struggled for years until proper management came along and then he showed the world what he could do. Was actually ranked #2 jr. welter in the world when he got the fight with Carmona and really started to struggle with lightweight even before the Puddu fight. Wish there was more video out there on him.
