Really getting sick of the Roy Jones steroid allegations. If he did in fact take steroids, it wasn't until he was fighting biger guys like Hall at Lt. Heavy. He fought Hopkins at a weight drained 160 ponds. I guess he was roiding back in the Olympics too when he got robbed of his gold medal huh? F'n idiots.

I think he didn't Roid until going up to Heavyweight and maybe some time during light heavy (if at all during LH)
Look at his stomach at the fight during the Ruiz clip and you will notice what I mean; he had a bloated roid gut.
I don't think he did it to enhance performance but more to make the higher weight. His natural talent was obvious from his earlier days at super middle.

What do you mean "if" he took steroids?

He took them and tested positive for them.

So is him only taking steroids as he moved up in weight meant to make it okay?

Noone's justifying him taking steriods. He admitted to taking ripped fuel, an over the counter sport supplement you can buy at GNC. My point was that evening if he did take steriods at some point throughout his career, the extent of his usage is grossly exagggerated by many on ESB.

Lets at least hear what really happened before we start speculating on what we think he did or did not take... it was no different than back in 2002 going to the local GNC and buying ephedra pills and poppin em... he wasnt sticking his ass with a needle and injecting hulk juice

The post-fight drug test showed Jones and Hall both tested positive for androstenedione, which is a banned substance by the IBF. Androstenedione is a natural steroid hormone that was commonly available over the counter as a supplement until 2004 when the FDA made the over the counter sale of androstenedione illegal. Jones admitted to taking the product "ripped fuel" which was sold in GNC and every nutritional supplement outlet. Jones was able to keep his title and was not fined or suspended for the positive test. All of Jones' other post-fight drug tests before and after this fight came back clean. He ended the year by stopping Eric Harding in the 10th round of a one sided fight, once again successfully retaining the title.

Roy Jones Jr. and Richard Hall both tested positive for the testosterone precursor androstenedione after Jones defeated Hall to retain his undisputed world light heavyweight championship in Indianapolis in 2000. Jones insisted his test was the result of ingesting the supplement Ripped Fuel.

    Ring Side Report: http://ringsidereport.com/rsr/news.php?readmore=1261

After Roy Jones, JR. defeated Richard Hall in 2000, both he and Hall tested positive for the androstenedione, a substance banned by the IBF. Jones admitted taking a produce named “Ripped Fuel” which contained androstenedione, a natural hormone which was available over the counter until 2004 when it was made illegal by the FDA. The IBF took a lenient stance to Jones' positive test, declining to fine or ban him and letting him keep his title.

thats all the evidence there is online. Like i said he took a bad substance that was banned by the IBF when he fought Hall,be4 or after that no positive test. If some1 brings me evidence of him roiding his whole career then I will change my stance until then sorry

He admitted taking ripped fuel. Ripped fuel does not contain anabolic steroids. He tested positive for anabolic steroids and not anything in ripped fuel.

Ripped fuel has NOTHING to do with the STEROIDS he tested positive for. The state doctor went as far as saying the ripped fuel business was false when interviewed later and he was very specific about that.

To be honest we can only guess at the extent of his steroid use. He tested positive for them once so we know he used them, but for how long and how much we will likely never know.
