Roy was great and on his day unplayable. He only lost the whiskers when he dropped 15lbs in muscle. He took some solid shots from Ruiz who would easier be the biggest puncher he has fought.
prep and aftermath for a world level fight is the same as prep/aftermath for a movie? you didnt just write that surely.
GGG would have landed more jabs than Jones did punches against Hopkins at that stage of his boxing career even with a busted right hand and GGG would have fought far better than Toney did vs Roy, he was awful, he couldn`t cut the ring off and didn`t go to the body like GGG would, he didn`t offer anything in that fight. GGG would have caught Toney with far more shots than Roy did, he would have that jab in Toney`s face all night, it looked like he was stoned or something.
I don't know. I thought RJJ won all 12 rounds against Toney. And as far as GGG vs Hopkins that's a good fight, who knows who wins. But with just 1 hand I would pick Hopkins.
Evander Holyfield, Hasim Rahman, Oquendo, Kirk johnson, Golota.... if Ruiz was so basic, he'd have lost to these more talented HW's.
the guy that does this videos is a complete idiot. when he gets his predictions off he just argues with everyone like a baby in his comments. he's just an mma fan that stops footage and doesn't get what a jab is. I'm sure he made a round one video of Robert guerrero vs Floyd saying how bad Floyd is too.
Jean Pascal former Lineal champion. Roy Jones and Pascal fought very similar only roy was a lot better. Watching a slow down video and saying "it doesn't matter the punch landed as that's not how he intended to do it" I've seen someone slow down videos of the earth before claiming it was flat. doesn't make it true.
Fouts stated that Crawford is better than Floyd was but Floyd deserves to be rated among the Top ten fighters of all time.
Which is what makes it so difficult to asses Roy. On the surface, Roy's combination of power and speed was the best I ever saw. But it was enhanced. How much was him? How much was the juice? At least Barry Bonds had several clean years before obviously cheating so we can kind of tell. But Roy is more like David Ortiz and Alex Rodriguez; juicing to the gills since day 1.
Old or not, Holy was still competing w/ the top ten then. Whether the others were near a prime holyfield is irrelevant. Not sure the distinction of that comment. Point is, Ruiz was a long standing title holder, defeated several top ten HW's. Only one, RJJ, was able to beat Ruiz clearly (Since Tua's KO of ruiz).
It's the weight dummy. Tarver put on weight like he was moving up divisions. Doesn't matter that it was a movie. Weight is weight.
anyone can make videos like this. all of his pre fight videos talk about why his favourite boxer is great and why the opponent doesn't have a chance. always shits all over the opponent. then when he's wrong he makes an excuse video. that's why I can't take him serious. even when he does have points he comes off as an mma fan boy more often than not.
