Silly *******, guilty as sin - who travels from Thailand to Bali to renew his visa using a suitcase he 'borrowed' from someone called 'Peter'?

Deadset, any time I've been heading to the likes of Indo, Singapore, Thailand etc, I start getting paranoid as **** when I'm going through customs even though I'm not carrying anything - it's just that then's when you start wondering "What if someone actually did put something into one of my bags?"

 

The deal breaker in the whole case was the Indo legal system. Lawyers have a pretty narrow terms of reference over there.

The cop found the **** in her bag, therefore it's hers.
It didn't matter that the evidence was tainted & not quarantined for forensic examination, nor did it matter that multiple arrests were being made at Sydney Brisbane & Melbourne airports for luggage tampering & drug trafficking.

An OZ lawyer would have prolly killed the charges overnight, but with the Indo system "It's yours, therefore you are" SLAM!

A few years ago there were a bunch of "free Schapelle Corby now" signs hanging from several bridhes here in Melbourne. The fact that she was found guilty by the courts seemed beside the point :huh

I was comparing the 2 legal systems, there & here.

Her sister lives in the joint, married to a local, they would have all known it would be "Off with ya head & on with a pumpkin" for toting weed, but she done what stupid people do.

I did hear though that there was a solid alibi that the bag was loaded at the airport here, & when she saw it, she tried to bluff her way through, because some have said that even if you point & say "there's a something in that bag that wasn't there when I left Australia", the Indos don't give a ****. "It's your bag & if what in it is illegal, you go down the shute"
