Was seeing RJJ lose to Calzaghe more painful than his KO loss to Johnson?

Roy Jones showboating in his prime came back to haunt him. You could call it karma.

Johnson fight was clearly the worst, Glen was a limited fighter who should never have beaten him. I kinda think Roy didn't retire because he wouldn't or couldn't believe that he had sunk to that depth.

    Maybe it was karma.

Roy spent his prime years humiliating and bullying postal workers and security guards who should never have been in the ring with him while apart from Toney making no real effort to make the fights the fans wanted to see (Dariusz, Calzaghe, Hopkins). What goes around comes around Roy.

They need to do scientific experiments to find out the cause of RJJ's sudden diminishing.

He was one of the best non-heavyweight athletic specimens pre-tarver

the most likely causes are either the balco fallout or the weight drop (which isn't too convincing as many fighters have done the same).

Roy’s style wasn’t built for longevity. He had fast switch muscle fibres like a sprinter. He was an explosive athlete. He was ageing and slowing down, spending more times on the ropes, before the weight loss damaged him. He looked completely different in the first Tarver fight. He was exhausted despite the fight not being fought at a high pace. Mackie Shilstone pleaded with him not to rush the muscle off and has since said that taking muscle off quickly at an advanced age can damage the body’s immune system. And how can any of us dispute that when he’s a highly respected sports scientist/strategist, when we saw a noticeable difference in Roy, and when we saw Antonio Tarver, Chad Dawson and Chris Byrd all suffer the same fate. His reflexes slowed which left him vulnerable, and then the subsequent knockouts left a weakness and affected his once supreme confidence. It was the perfect storm.

The Danny Green fight was pretty hard to watch.
