Did he admit to it? I didn't hear that. I heard he took a polygraph and passed. That's pretty convincing to me. If he relied on the advantage he thought it gave him he must have known he was taking something that gave him an advantage, so how in the **** did he pass a polygraph?:nono
if he didnt need it, he shouldnt have taken them then...reality check- Shane had lost two in a row to Forrest Went up in weight and fough a NC against Raul Marquez Quite a drop from a fighter many considered the #1 p4p in the sport...he needed a boost, even if it was only in confidence, and steroids was itl....
He said he unkowingly took them. And when the hell did a polygraph test become reliable? Take a muscle relaxer and you can pass. Either way, its an ILLEGAL advantade, right or wrong?
Again, I didn't hear him say that. I only heard you say that. If he did in fact unknowingly take an illegal substance it didn't significantly affect the outcome of the fight as far as I can tell because the outcome was him actually faring worse than he did the first time around. If he didn't knowingly cheat, and if the outcome of the fight wasn't significantly affected, then WTF is everybody getting so excited about? Right or wrong? Neither, because as far as anybody here knows he didn't knowingly or unknowingly do anything and the fight didn't turn out any better for him than the first one did.
You act like the NC was a loss. He was whipping that ass until it got stopped do to a ****ing headbutt.
This has got to be the worst reasoning of all time. The ol "I didn't know I took it" so its not cheating routine. Oops! Reinstate James Toney as the WBA heavyweight champ.....he didn't know. IN FACT, lets give every athlete the benifit of the doubt when they say they didn't know. Who's to say how much it did or didn't help? The point is, IT COULD HAVE and its illegal. For the life of me I can't figure out how that can be so difficult to understand.
You're the one who said he "unknowingly" took illegal substances like two posts ago. You even suggested that it didn't matter if it was knowingly or unknowingly. I guess now you're retracting those statements? Now you're sure that he knowingly took them? The ****in FBI wasn't sure. Maybe you should team up with them and pool your resources to get this case solved.
I haven't claimed to know whether he knew he was taking them illegally or not. But the FACT remains that it is an illegal advantage. Now hurry up and grab your helmet and bib, the short bus just pulled up outside your front door.
Dumbass go get ur facts straight Toney said he took steroids for a injury months prior and just didnt think theyd remain in his system. I seriously doubt he was using them in the month of training leading up to the Ruiz fight since he looked like a black Pillsbury Doughboy.
Oh, and by the way, Toney thought it was ok to take them under a doctors care. Hate to break it to you, but ignorance of the rules is no excuse.
Your last post suggested that the whole "unknowingly" thing was BS, so now you're contradicting yourself again. If he did take them then yes, it would have been illegal. If he took them for this fight I didn't see them giving him any advantage at all. If you wanna get into insults you better come up with some newer & better material. That helmet & short bus **** just ain't gonna cut it, but I can see by your username that originality is not a quality you possess, Jab5239. :yep
Like I said, I don't know if he knew or not. But I have a hard time believing a man as intelligent as Shane had no idea what he was putting into his body You've deduced that just by looking at my username? Obviously I've underestimated Your immense intellect. Took you 6 posts to figure out using steroids knowingly or unknowingly is illegal, yet you've figured me out just by my screen name, BRILLIAN!!!:rofl
