When Mosley beat Hoya he was definately the equivalent to linear champ as the whole world knew Hoya did not loose to Tito. So maybe not "official" linear but Mosley was definately the "man" at welter.

So I guess Manny Pacquiao is not the lineal jr welterweight champion since Ricky Hatton only had the IBO/The Ring Jr Welterweight belts. However, I can see it if you mean he beat Kostya Tszyu who was the undisputed jr welter at one point having the wba/wbc/ibf.

Plus, Pac also beat Barrera but he never unified the belts at featherweight. Yet, he was considered a lineal champ.

Lineal title can be won from the holder or picked up when there's no lineal champ in the division and the no1 guy fights no2. As Tito moved up right after the Oscar win, DLH and Mosley fought as no1 and no2, therefore Shane picked up the lineal title. Margarito and Mosley were ranked no1 and no2-3, so Shane picked up the title again.

The LHW lineal title goes back to Hill-Maske. Hill lost to Michalczewski, who lost to Gonzalez, who lost to Erdei.

No, but he was the consensus #1 welterweight after beating De La Hoya.

There is no doubt Erdei is Lineal at LHW but he is still a bum/ record padder.

Which is exactly the reason why I don't follow who is linear champ. It's just a bit of trivia.

Mayorga earned the top title. Forrest vacated or was stripped of his IBF title. And Mayorga beat him to get the WBC title. Mayorga carried the WBC And WBA titles. Making him the number one guy.
