Agreed. That's why I think even the KD wasn't legitimate.

 

Who really knows what went on in sonny's head, as he stepped in to the ring to face Ali for the second time?
It may literally have been a split second decision to fall down and roll over. Or perhaps he was actually dazed, or perhaps he was paid to do it or threatened to do it?
Aren't all those involved dead now?

 

I believe all those in Sonny Liston's corner, management, and his underworld figures are all deceased. Do you remember the original Muhammad Ali vs Ernie Terrell fight scheduled for March 29 1966 that never happened. Terrell stated years later said that the reason that the fight never happened was due to potential interference by the Muslims on Ali's behalf, he too and the underworld figures involved with Ernie were too fearful of them. It makes Sonny's fear of them too reasonable, as they were present in Lewiston, Maine, sitting at ringside for the rematch with Muhammad Ali in 1965.
