Was Sonny Liston's jab really that powerfull or is it more of a myth?

Liston's jab was for real. Joe Bugner, arguably one of the most durable heavyweights in history, once worked as Liston's sparring partner. Bugner attests that Liston could knock someone out with a single jab.

 

It was hard but not as hard as Wlad's. Wald's is the greatest jab of all time.

 

Thick arms with a massive 15" fist being smashed into your face. Ouch.

 

A lot of people say that Liston's left arm was significantly bigger and more muscular than his right arm, and that Liston was in fact a converted southpaw who fought out of the Orthodox stance.

If true, that would explain why he had such a strong jab.

 

Myth? FFS, Sonny wasn't in the bare knuckle era.

There's plenty of evidence of his jab's potency.

 

I don't believe that Vlad jabs as hard as Liston could. Bugner's testimony says a lot...dude could take one hell of a punch, and he would know better than most.

Yes, Wlad's jab is so excellent, precisely timed, accurate, and powerful that he made David Gaye look like Willie Pep with it as he whiffed time and time again.

atsch he fought mostly sub 200 pound guys and still doesnt have an awsome KO percentage . So like most of the OLD TIMERS his power and skill level is more MYTH then fact !:deal
