Utter crap. Cleveland Williams was bigger, and Liston's wins came from his power and technique rather than his size. He didn't even rely on his 84 inch reach and could work well at any distance.

Of Liston's 50 wins over half of his opponents were under 200 pounds. Liston was a huge man for his day like any other great heavyweight champion in history.

The combination of size and skill is what makes a champion in the heavyweight division, always has always will. Not many being bigger and the ones that are bigger not approaching their skill allows them to be champion. It applies to Liston, Louis, Ali, Klitchkos, Lewis all the greats. Even a smallish great champion like Marciano was not outweighted by anyone very skillful.

Walcott, Charles and Moore were all about the same weight as Marciano they were not bigger. Yes those three were all very skilled but Marciano was just a little better.

It's always gonna by "mythified" a little bit, but it was definitely powerful, and one of the better ones in the history of the sport. . .

his 84" reach (big, wide back, and disproportionally long left arm), coupled with his natural punching power, made it an excellent weapon. . . He could pop that thing down the pipe with speed, and power. . . It was definitely more of a "sledgehammer, power, point scoring" jab, rather than just a blinding jab to set up other punches.

HOWEVER, Ali's jab showed it up. . .

I don't think his jab was as powerful as Wladimir's is. .. Nor nearly as fast, and accurate as Ali's. . .

boxingdomain, you've never watched a fight of Liston, or any fight that happened before this decade. i don't know why you even post on these threads. is it just so you can agree with what some Klitschko nuthugger has to say? it's fuking cringeworthy.
