People seem to think that Taylor won the fight. Is this the consensus or were the people I talked to in the minority?

This is what happens when you dont knock people out, you could definitely make a case for either winning the match

The consensus seems to be a 7-5, 8-4 fight for Kelly.

funny you bring that up. I just watched the first one and Taylor was winning on my card. I never watched the 2nd though. But i have heard it was controversial. If only Taylor had a good defense in the first he would have schooled Pavlik. Actually TKOd him late but oh well.

I had Taylor winning comfortably, so did the rest of the Kelly Pavlik fans in my living room

Scored it 8-4. Pavlik controlled the last 4 rounds convincingly - Jermain fought off his back foot and fought only in spurts. The body shot in the 11th had Taylor practically out - the win was sealed right there.

Heck no - if it was close enough for Taylor to win HBO would've made sure Taylor got the decision. The very fact that Pavlk got the decision against HBOs posterboy at all shows this wasn't remotely controversial, or shouldn't be.

I had it 5-5 going into the championship rounds and Pavlik closed the deal. So i had it 7-5 Pavlik.

I near fell asleep going into the last three, when Pavlik supposedly pulled away

    Pavlik did enough.

Also, a lot of the rounds were close and i can see where some can see Taylor winning. It all depends on what you look for. Taylor seemed to land the more telling blows all fight long and was more crisp and economical with his punches whereas Pavlik was busier but not nearly as crisp as Taylor.

The Pavlik arse lickers on the commentary team were getting worried half way through, trying to spin everything Pavlik's way. But he definitely did enough in the 2nd half of the fight to get the decision.

You had it scored the same way Jack Lowe had it.

I had the fight 7 - 5 Taylor. It was a great fight though and could have went either way.
