Thanks for the warning mate - PPV mugs are on notice to fork out extra for any competitive non title fight
Well said - we should reasonably expect entertaining boxing on Sky Sports without being fleeced extra for PPV. No problems with Sky or BT charging PPV for non subscribers.
I agree 100% but all the Matchroom posters on here will try to convince you it's not possible. Basically anh script their messiah throws them.
Would not be surprised to see Eh Day sink lower than a worm's belly by exploiting last night to show the fight 'we all want to see on Sky Box Office' - Derek Chisora v The Shyte Rhino
Bellew and Haye last night clearly love each other now they have shared a huge pile of PPV loot. Looks like we have found the boxing equivalent of Richard and Judy
So they should settle for less than their market value? They put there health on the line and should try and get every penny they can imo. Fans have the choice to buy/stream/radio/don't watch.
People moaning about PPV fights. Damn this gets boring. Just don't buy the damn PPV. If you think it is not worth the cash then it's quite easy to just refuse to spend the money. Last night was a card I didn't feel was PPV worthy so I just didn't watch the event. Not gonna ***** and moan about it.
None of the top fighters who have drawing power will fight on Sky Sports for limited money. As has been said before, blame Sky for giving small right fees to Eddie for Saturday Night Shows and paying 11M a Game for games like Stoke v West Brom. Eddie Hearn is not going to exactly criticise his main broadcaster publicly for not giving him more money is he ?
Parker's market value is/was solely based on being a Joshua opponent. Same with Whyte. Parker was fighting on Youtube PPV with 50 people watching before he was associated with Joshua. Same with Whyte, his whole name is based on being a Joshua foe, and this resurgence is on him fighting Joshua again. In essence they are both breadcumbs of Joshua. However after watching the fight they deserve the cheques, but we didn't know beforehand it would be such a good fight. Risks shouldn't be allowed on PPV, it has to be established fighters.
Very good entertainment but does not mean it should have been ppv! Parker will be kicking himself that he didnt go for it more in the last few rounds - although he was knackered too and had been put down heavily
So where does all the revenue go then? The fight would generate more than enough money to pay Whyte and Parker.
Have a word mate. I go to on average 12-15 shows a year and pay for subscriptions to sky and bt. Shows like last night shouldn't be PPV. Nobody thought it was before the event apart from the fanboys. Just because you get 2 good fights doesn't mean it's ppv worthy.
