I haven't seen this talked about honestly but I'm just wondering if there is an argument for the 9th round being a 10-7 round ? Considering how badly Fury was hurt prior to the knockdown I think an extra point is possible TBH what do you guys think ?

No one is talking about it being a 10-7 round nor is anyone arguing about it. Next......

It was KO round. Look at yesterday stoppages, and compare them to that round, and you will answer your question.

Yes no one has talked about it hence that's why I made the thread.

If a round is so dominant you can score an extra point along with the knockdown, for example I scored a 10-7 round in the recent Haney vs Garcia fight.

Another example is I gave Golota an extra point along with the knockdown against Bowe because he had such a dominant round.

Yeah I know but do you think it was a 10-7 round regardless ? I looked it again today and I think it was honestly.

This is the first time I’ve heard of scoring a single knockdown round as a 10-7. The whole point of knocking your opponent down is that you automatically get credited with a 10-8 round regardless of whatever else happened in the round (except in exceptional circumstances). Your opponent doesn't get an extra point deducted just because he looked like he was badly hurt from 1 knockdown.

What YOU score it as doesn't matter. I think it was a clear example of what a 10-8 round looks like in accordance with boxing's scoring system.

Perhaps a poll on this thread would have helped get more opinions on what the round scored as

It's a subject not many fans think about honestly people always just assume it's a 10-8 round just based on the single knockdown. But as I said you can actually award an extra point depending how dominant the round is but it's all down to personal preference I guess.

Yeah I should've made a poll TBH oh well.

To be fair no. I think in order to make a case for 10-7, you had to be dominant through the whole round. The barrage was last 30 seconds or so.
But i would say that if the ref was not given the knockdown, and Fury managed to survive, that was definitely 10-8 round, even if there wasn't an official KD.
You know who i support and that i don't like Fury, but when it comes to this i'm always fair.

You should be fair more often. You are a good poster when you want to be

You can still dislike someone and be honest
I think Aj will fold Dubois in half and will praise when he does, though I would prefer he lose

Anyway, I'm done with bickering with anyone, unless it's good debate

    Good post

Yeah like most fans the thought of 10-7 or 10-8 round never entered our thoughts. Just thought that the ref was stopping the fight when he intervened an shielded Fury from Usyk

The real question is, was it a 10-0 round? Because if we have a TEN point system, presumably there is such a thing as a 10-0 round. So if that's not 10-0, what is? When a guy's head falls off?
