I got to see two legends fight live against each other. I also saw a brutal knockout and an entertaining heavyweight scrap, as well as a young prospect show his skills. So yes, I say it was worth it.
It was an entertaining card. No single fight was absolutely spectacular - but overall - it was a fun three hours.
DK came through. GBP on their PPC cards need to learn how to add interesting undercard fights. Don has always been pretty good at understanding that he needs to put on a complete show. - Jason
Yes, it was great fun! I stayed up until 6AM to watch it here in London, and it was fantastic. It's a while since I'd watched a fight live, and it was really enjoyable. I didn't see the DeMarcus Corley fight, but the rest (Karmazin-Udema; Mollo-Golota; Jones-Trinidad) were very entertaining, each in different ways.
No. The superbowl is free and has 100,000 times the exposure. Boxing could kill other sports if they didn't cannibalize themselves.
nobody outside the USA care about the superbowl, boxing is a globe sport and will never die and top fight deserve huge money because this is the hardest sport in the world and PPV is the way of getting it.
Not a great value in comparison to what you could get for the same price elsewhere in the sports world. Over $50 is just wrong, its not all that expensive, but its morally offensive for some reason.
A couple million people outside of North America watch the SuperBowl. Pretty decent numbers for a sport nobody else really plays. The british media also follows the NFL somewhat during the regular season.
My place; 2 fans, 2 non fans. End of the card = 4 fans. Main event ok but the quality of the undercard made it a great buy. Not often non boxing fans like bouts without knockdowns but they loved it.
didn't have to pay for it, but was worth staying awake till 5.30 am for me. i enjoyed the golota fight the most.
