Was the Cotto knockout loss really that much of a surprise?

Not a surprise. I thought Maragrito would chin check him, and he did!

No, it was not any kind of surprise, whatsoever. But it wasn't just Cotto's history of getting hurt. It was his history of backpeddling under sustained pressure, taking constant breaks, and always seeming to avert heavy exchanges whenever he wasn't always getting the absolute best of the situation, that also made it extremely clear that he wasn't ready for Margarito, and he never would be.

This is exactly what I was saying before the fight!!

And no, I was not the least bit surprised I was right, either.

The signs of Cotto's questionable whiskers were there for all to see.

not at all, Cotto has mad skills but I fully expected a KO victory for Margo, I was one of the Crazies who said that Judah would KO him. I still believe that if not for the low blows, Judah would've scored an early KO

I'd be willing to believe that, and I picked Cotto in that fight. There were a number of times that Judah barely missed connecting (on the few punches that he did throw) only by inches. Punches that would have caused a lot more damage potentially, than the ones that Judah did land when he had Cotto in trouble. Undoubtedly, the low blows and alot of good luck got Cotto through that fight. It was a very crude and sloppy performance by Cotto. Judah folded up and handed it away, it was absolutely gutless.

yes it was. i thought he will win against margo via UD or even SD. i was hell surprised. i always knew margo was a live underdog and would trouble cotto a bit but never thought that he will kick cottos ass

The TKO was not surprising but the fact that he was winning on two of the scorecards going into the 11th was not something I expected to see!

He didn't though. Evangelista Cotto and Kenny Bayless stopped the fight. Bigger Surprise is that someone who clearly didn't watch the fight thinks he can continually comment on it.

Even as a Puertorrican my self wasnt surprised because:

Every time Cotto and Margo where on the same card or close to fight, Margo was the one who carried the strongest, dangerous and violent figthers. For ex:

    1. Cotto vs Pinto ; Margo vs Santos

    2. Cotto vs Quintana ; Margo vs Clottey

    3. Cotto vs Gomez; Margo vs Cintron

When Cotto was fighting Judah i think Margo was with a more dangerous figther in Williams. He didnt win but he showed he was very strong finisher in all of this figths and also that he could take punch.
