uhhhhhh....Floyd beat Ricky EVERYWHERE....outside, rough housing, illegal tactics, and on the INSIDE more notably and finally beat him to the KO!
I didnt agree with the point deduction. I dont think the deck was stacked against Hatton though. Its not like he wasnt holding and clinching in the fight too.
he landed a punch ***git in that first round and if the ropes prevent a knockdown it is still a knockdown. Thats what happend. The rabbit punch? did that merrit a 1 point deduction? Driving laws in the USA generaly suggest you rear end someone you are libal. But what if the car in front of you slams on the brakes? Non of this has anything to do with the fighters, Im saying Hatton with how the ref conducted himself and the crappy score of the judges from the first round on illustrates Hatton from the openning bell had to win by knockout. All Im saying.
The deck was not stacked against Hatton. I gave him 1 round. He just wasn't landing any clean punches. Look at the compubox numbers, the guy landed 17% of his punches. Anyone with two eyes, could clearly see who the better fighter was. It didn't matter though, Floyd made sure the judges weren't going to decide this fight.
Ok, Hatton only won 1 round in my opinion before he got KO'd, and he definately deserved that point dedcution. Floyd was trapped against the ropes and had his back turned and Hatton tried to punch him in the back of the head. This is cheap, and dangerous. Luckily the rope softened the blow. Cortez said before the fight that he would deduct a point without warning. Cortez was right to warn Hatton that he was going to stop the fight. Hatton was taking way too many clean blows. Had the ref stopped the fight, Hatton would not of had his head bounced of the turnbuckle like that.
This thread is a joke. Because its clear to anyone wither eyesight then Stevie Wonder that Hatton was down big on the cards because he couldnt land anything all night long. Its clear that it wasnt a punch that sent Floyd unbalanced, and that he didnt even use the ropes to get himself back up straight. Its clear that the promoters tried everything they could from ringside to holla in the ref's ear for Ricky's favor. And its also clear that the only thing stacked against Hatton is that he was fighting Floyd Mayweather.
