Mayweather did most of the clinching in the first 2 rounds or so but it became more even later on.

Mayweather beat Hatton at his own game. Hatton likes to be rough and tumble and fight dirty, and Floyd can fight dirty too and got the better of it on the inside, outside, mid-range, everything.

The fight was competitive and even until the 7th round, those scorecards were a sham.

Whatever. Hatton threw a punch at Floyd when Floyd was through the ropes. He deserved a deduction whether he landed or not - illegal either way.

Fans sometimes see only what they want to see. I was out on a party and did not see the fight. I'm now very intrigued and want to see the fight badly. Are they going to replay it this Saturday?

I'm not a fan of either boxer. But in any way, PBF KOd Hatton. It simply ended that way...

That can be said for just about any other fighter who chooses to go and fight on foreign soil. Its a moot point.

I watched the fight again and i can't give hatton anymore than two rounds max.

and quit sooking about the ref ! Dave Parris was alot worse in Hattons win over Tszyu , just look at the low blow Hatton got away with against kostya

I've been a member of this forum for a while but I dont post very often. The hatred and the bias turns me off most of the time. I live in Liverpool, 30 mins drive from where Ricky comes from. I have followed both the careers of Floyd and Ricky pretty much from the beginning. As fighters I love both of them, but I admit I was rooting for Hatton, simply because I have found Floyd's personality to have become less attractive over the past few years.

Last night I thought Ricky could have fought better, although I believed the referee did interfere too much. Despite this I have to take my hat off to Floyd, he beat Ricky fair and square. His ability to fight inside surprised me even. He is truly special. He was also magnanimous and showed great class in victory, an element of his personality he has been hiding of late. Ricky is STILL a great fighter but I would have liked him to have shown more grace and respect for Floyd after the fight. I'm sure he will eventually.

But congratualations to Floyd, he is phenomenal, I have refound my faith in him (as a person) and will now proudly call myself a fan again. Dont hate either fighter, just love. To quote a great American General, George S. Patton:

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died (or lost). Rather we should thank God that such men lived (and fought)."

PS I apologise on behalf of Brits for booing the American national anthem, it was misguided and nothing personal (just hyped up drunk people). The vast amount of British people love and respect America and Americans.

His gloves did not touch the canvas. Even though your ass didnt land, as long as your gloves touch, it is ruled as a knockdown.

Boo whooo! Man, stop whining like a *****. Had Hatton won, you would not have said any of this bull****. He got a fair shake minus the one point deduction. He got beat by the superior fighter. What you need to be wondering is why Ricky abandoned the body punch and went away from his gameplan.

    GET OVER IT.

Agreed, Ricky will be back and may surprise us still. He still has alot in the tank:good
I ask the same question: why did he abandon the body? He didn't look like the same fighter that beat Castillo.
