It's truly sickening. The commentators are like cheerleaders for the American boxer. And the officials help out the home guy.

I know there has been some dishonesty in the past, but it's been worse the past few years.

HBO's Steward and Lampley were generally fair to foreign fighters in their commentary, and the officiating was never as bad in the 1990s and during 2000 to 2010 as it is nowadays.

Shout out to a one-legged Kholmatov for fighting the commission, the ref, and the commentators.

From the RbR thread because I can't be bothered to explain my thoughts and utter outrage regarding this again.

In short, I've never see commentary, or rather propaganda, like that in my life

I cannot believe anyone is defending and trying to justify what just happened.

We just witnessed what was hands down the most biased commentary I've ever seen and I've been watching boxing since I was a kid and I've seen a million fights. It wasn't just insanely biased they were literally creating a narrative which was the complete opposite of reality and what we all could see as clear as day with our eyes. The fight wasn't remotely close and at best you could give Ford 3 rounds.

We even literally witnessed Otabek batter Ford in one of the later rounds, a round he completely dominated, and Bradley said Ford was having his way and making him miss and making him pay, I've never seen anything like that in all my life. You wouldn't see propaganda like that in Stalin's Russia.

And that corrupt bald creep of a ref, and who knows what he gets up to behind closed doors, dived in the first chance he could get to wave it off when Otabek hadn't even been down. He got on his bike after getting hurt and decided to give us a brief display of American slickness of his own because he knew there was only seconds left and he only had to see it out until the bell rang and the ref dived in to make sure the home boy got the W. Bradley said he literally saved Otabek's life.

There was only 7 seconds left and there's no goddamn way in hell that ref would've waved that off if the roles were reversed and every single one of you knows damn well he wouldn't have.

As I said in the Round by Round thread, tell me boxing isn't fixed. Do it with a straight face.

I haven't been so ready to quit watching the sport as I am now in a long time. MMA is leagues better at this point.

Your Excellency, if you are reading this, and I suspect you are, would it be possible if you could pull some strings to ensure that every single American star who fights over in Saudi gets robbed blind by the refs and judges like they do to foreigners over there all the time?

    Thank you kindly in advance

That was ESPN commentary at its absolute worst. They were siding with Ford every step of the way and gave Kholmatov almost zero credit for his efforts. For every round that Kholmatov was winning clearly the commentators would cream their pants for one or two clean hits from Ford.

Loma vs Haney killed it for me. It was a long journey of pain watching the sport slowly become more corrupt, and that was the final straw. I am barely a fan now, and I used to watch almost all world relevant cards. So sad.

Tell you what: that is the worst ****ing commentary I have ever heard on any fight. I been watching boxing since 1985. It probably averages out at about 10 fights a week the best part of 40 years. I considered myself almost immune to commentary, I can't explain it, it's almost like I do and don't' hear them at the same time. But this was almost unbearable. When he started screaming about how it would come down to who wants it more in round 9, I was ready to throw him into the sea. What a ****ing idiot. He was literally telling us how great Ford was while Otabek was lashing him with punches, it was absurd.
