was the first Joshua-Usyk fight closer than the 2nd

I have 116-112 Usyk for the first and 117-111 for the second.
But paradoxically I think Joshua had a better fight in the rematch.

 

Joshua did better in the rematch but the actual scoring of both fights is still very similar if that makes sense. Usyk won the 1st fight in the region of 117-111, and the 2nd fight Usyk won in the region 117-111 or 116-112.

 

I had both fights about even by way of scoring, but the second fight was a lot more competitive

Joshua made some great improvements under Garcia, so much so I think if you gave him a couple of more camps he’d best Usyk.

 

Usyk didn't perform as well in the rematch - The early rounds were much tighter, Usyk then took control dropping only 1 or 2 later rounds. I think he took 1 round off and 1 round AJ did pretty well then he gassed because he's a bum bodybuilder.

AJ performed the same pretty much. totally useless. Atleast with Fury if he lost this fight he'd come to the rematch completely differently.

 

On my card the first was wider. I also felt that Usyk won the rounds he did win more clearly in 1.

 

9-3 first fight and 8-4 in the second.
Were almost even after 9 In both fights, then Usyk pulled away in the final 3.

 

I personally had the second fight closer. Both clear enough at the end

 

Joshua, at least wasn’t staggering about at the end, as he was in the first fight. Given that he spent between fights scouting America for a suitable trainer, while Usyk was otherwise occupied in more pressing matters. It could be expected, that he should have done a lot, lot better.
Then again, he was so soundly outpointed, he didn’t deserve the “Hearn” rematch!

 

Joshua looked better in fight 2 but he didn't bank many rounds at all in either fight
