they looked more like heavyweights in good shape than cruisers IMO. tactical from haye, he was troubled for 3-4 rounds and looked shaky, but he was conserving energy to land heavy bombs and blast mormeck out from r6 onwards. i though it was better than calzaghe v kessler, but didn't touch the bika contender final.
It wasn't as good as you might have guessed. Haye had a gameplan to wear mormeck down to the body and take him out later, he wasn't his usual explosive self. The first 3 rounds were close and cagey Haye almot got KOed in the fourth came back in the 5th and 6th looking drained and tired, and beaten, then out of nowhere in the seventh, a superb combo to finish it.
It was a good fight. I enjoyed it. It kinda reminded me of Pavlik v Taylor, being both fighters went down. When Haye got KD, I thought Mormeck was gonna finish him right then and there. Sucks he didn't. Same thing with Taylor, I thought he was gonna finish Pavlik in round 2. Anyways the fight was pretty good, id reccommend it. Mormeck was ahead on the cards before the KO imo.
It was an enjoyable fight, bit sloppy but plenty of action, was disappointed by Mormeck's stamina and thought he should've finished Haye in rd 4. Well worth watching but not on the level of Pavlik-Taylor.
yeah but haye was basically ****ed from the start his body was totally drained we seen a 60% haye knock out mormeck
I thought it was a hell of a fight. I was pulling for Haye, then he was in some serious looking trouble early, then come back strong as hell and KO Mormeck.
It was a good fight. Haye's bodyshots paid dividends and Mormeck ran out of steam without ever really unloading the barrages I expected. Once Haye started to land to the head it was gonna be over quickly - the guy has SICK power. If Haye stays focused he could be the saviour of the heavyweight division. He looked 'gone' in the fourth round from some fairly innocuous shots from Mormeck, but I believe Haye when he says that was due to making the weight. As a heavyweight we'll see Haye at full force. He's certainly a puncher which is always welcome, and would give him a chance of beating the best of the best at the moment i.e. Wlad Klitschko
