Was the Holmes fight worth it to Ali

    I really doubt it overall, yet, it was a quick cash fix in 1980......... King promised Ali $8 million smackers total, but tix sales were not what King expected....... Thus, Ali settled for less.......... I'm guessing Ali got around $6 million, and, was taxed hardcore.... After paying uncle Sam as well as his team, Ali was lucky to walk away with $1.5 to $2 million at best....... Go figure...... King jacked-off Ali.......

    BUT! Come Dec. 1981, Ali signed with King for a cool $1 million to face Berbick in the Bahamas.... So, WTF? Berbick got like $250,000 G's.......

    Don King is scum, a slimy,evil piece of crap but also a survivor. I was just reading how he crossed Cleveland organised crime heavy hitter Shondor Birns back in the 60's (before the Irishman blew him to kingdom come) and survived to rise to the top of the pile.
