the writer on the front page made a silly article which has little to do with earnie shavers power, its more about his boxing skills. he basically said that earnie sparked every journeyman but when he stepped up, he lost. whats that got to do with his power? it just means he cant get to his target, and he cant avoid whats coming his way. everyone who fought shavers, foreman and guys like lyle, said that shavers hit far harder than foreman or lyle put together. next theres going to be an article saying " was George foremans power overrated?" as time goes on people forget alot about guys like earnie. another fella said that had shavers been taller then he would have hit harder. that was obviously a silly thing to say. can rahman hit harder than tua? can ray austins hit harder than big george? Sam langford who was just 5'6 n half was the shavers of his day with skill. i think after you reach a certain size, you have unlimited power. for example a guy who is 6'0 would be able to hit harder than a guy who is 6'7. for example samuel peter and vitali klitschko. they both hit about the same, yet look at the size difference. conclusion, shavers power was not overrated, if anything, its underrated. peace:thumbsup
