Someone was saying on another thread that Wlad had lost his punch when he floored AJ but I countered that Foreman was older than Wlad when he KO`d Moorer, so which shot was harder and could AJ have taken the shot that KO`d Moorer?

I don't buy into the notion that "a punch is the last thing to go" honestly. That being said, it's hard to compare singular punches, but I'd say old Foreman hit harder in general than old wlad.

In fact I think Old Foreman hit harder than prime Wlad, but that's a different story.

As to whether AJ could take the shot Foreman dished out, id actually say that Moorer and AJ have similar chins, so who knows. Was more of a situational thing

I thought it was a fair question, and personally I think that foreman hit harder than wladamir, that right hand that put moorer down looked like quite an arm punch but I believe Moorer went on to say it was the hardest hit he ever took. Hard to say which one was harder not being on the receiving end but I'd say big George had the bigger right hand in general.

People don't seem to know what theyre looking at. The reason George was able to spark Moore out was because he baited him into a false sense of security. Even Moore's trainer noticed this and tried to warn him. Moore wanted to be macho and go for the KO against a seemingly helpless old man with nothint left in the tank.

Foreman was a cunning wolf in sheep's clothing. The whole comeback affable jolly old man thing was an act. Sure maybe he was a better person than he was before and Im not going to judge tje sincerity of his religious beliefs. But inside the ring? That demon never went anywhere. He made sure to not hit Moore full force or he'd scare him off and have him backpedaling on his bike like morrison and holyfield did and he was not about to go 0-3 in title shots.

The punch itself probably wasnt any harder than most right hands he used in his other Kos, but he got Moore to relax and walk towards him and that made for a beautiful finish. He didnt even need to put his full body weight or snap into it.

Wladmir on the other hand was like an old Lion on his last hunt. The pride is fickle and will side with whichever male is left standing. Joshua was the young male seeking to take out veteran. Like his predecessor, Jersey Joe Walcott, Wladmir got in his best shape possible and went out on his shield. He hammered AJ witj his best right hand but it just wasnt enough. Time is cruel, and unlike Foreman he had played his hand and had no other cards left. The other guy had a better hand and wasted no time closing the game out.

To answer the thread question, wladmir and foreman are 2 different types of punchers so its hard to compare. Foreman was a sledegehammer/wrecking ball and just broke you down with heavy hands and big heavy shots. He lacks speed but you will be badly hurt even if you block it or it doesnt land completely flush. Wladmir was more explosive and put his hips and weight into his shots for a nasty combination of speed and power. You cant simply go by the fact foreman kod his opponent and wladmir didn't. For one thing, AJ has a better chin than Moore. In addition, Foreman continued to fight several more fights after he won the belt while wladmir was done and looked finished even before the joshua fight and he retired shortly afterwards.

Wlad’s was harder he was more fit and got more behind it. Moorer was chinny and a blown up light heavy.

I don't think it takes much to knock down Moorer. Any heavy handed heavyweight could drop him with an average punch landed clean. Moorer was always a one punch knockout waiting to happen.

Wlad launched himself into the shot and drove his fist right through Joshua's chin.

Foreman caught a chinny former LHW perfectly on the button, after baiting him in for several rounds.

In terms of pure power there's no comparison.

Yes, I don`t think Holy hit Moorer with any harder single shot, he stopped him with a number of punches in their rematch.
