No. The referee did a fine job. He let the two men fight it out. Ward was not cheating. he was fighting.

:deal Some people see what they want to see...Green was the one that was doing a lot of holding.

I love how they try to blame the ref. for this!:rofl

Ward fought dirty vs Kessler. He did not fight dirty vs Green. Ward simply fought a beautiful fight and broke Green down in every way. Not once did I think Ward was fighting dirty and the referee did a great job of letting them fight it out on the inside. What I have a problem with is refs like Cortez during Mayweather Hatton.

That he was. It seemed like Green was focused more on holding than he was landing punches on the inside. I guess he doesn't speak 'jive' as good as he thought

    Bad thread.

I haven't seen many news articles questioning the ref's handling of the fight. Spectator opinions, especially haters, don't carry much weight.

They were punching out of a clinch and infighting, it wasnt illegal. When holding happened, it was pretty split between both fighters, although Ward was actually able to do something with it and Green was just doing...well I don't know what. Being a heavy bag?

It looked like MMA. Both fighters start at range, you think something can happen. Then Ward goes inside and everything becomes dull for half a round. But he has the right to fight this way, even if he can do it several other ways. This one was negating Green's assets more I suppose. Dull stuff.

Ward didn't fight dirty against Kessler and he didn't fight dirty against Green. LOL. 99% of the people crying about Ward "holding Kessler" or roughing up Green are Hatton supporters. LOL

    Boxing News 25th June 2010.
Journalist Zachary Levin praises Wards performance against Green. Later in his article writes.
He never let him come up for air. He'd tie up an arm and punch with his free hand on the opposite side of the ref.
His head has suddenly become the best third fist in boxing, a la Holyfield.

    Sound legal does it?
