i was just thinking about this the other day about good and great fighters from around the world that could get by without being known to have the greatest chins. roy jones, zab judah, tommy morrison, terry norris, thomas hearn and maybe naseem hamed where great examples showing that you could be good... even great without being known to take a great punch.

but i havent really seen a good fighter from mexico that couldent take good punch. they all seem to have great chins.

has a there been a good fighter to come out of mexico that was effective but not known to have a great chin?

Hm, Hamed had a great chin, he was often knocked down due to beeing im-balanced but was never hurt.

Maybe Yory Boy Campas but I'd have to examine his record first.

    Down against Norwood too.

He has great will to win, but his chin is rather shaky.

.............Co-signed. Campas had an unusually stout chin, even for a Mexican.

.............Marquez was a decent choice, as could be Zarate, I suppose. I wouldn't say either had a terrible chin, just average.

He was prone to staying on his stool when he knew he couldn't win, and he was stopped on his feet...

But jesus christ, the last shot he ate against Trinidad?

That was Lennox/Vitali levels of brutal right there. And his friggin' knees didn't even buckle.

...........Good thing for him he had such a good chin, because his power was only average and he had "alligator arms." :rofl

Shortest arms I've ever seen on a fighter; they were about three inches long.

    T-Rex Campas.

    Wait, Campas? Average power?

Guy fought as a ****in' cruiseweight and stopped multiple decent fighters up there! :nono

...........No seriously, his power wasn't that terrific. He'd built his big KO record over dozens of no-hopers, so it looks better than it is. Watching him struggle against the painfully ordinary Roger Turner and watching his punches bounce off him with comparatively little payoff convinced me of this.
