Librado Andrade fights at 168 and he has one of the best chins in boxing.

 

Imo that doesn ot have anything to do with his chin, look at that comp.
With Barerra, he was exchangign and got caught, thats why i felt along wit hthe punch while he was down the ref Draculich never called it a kd, from his angle he threw a punch and missed and went down off balance.

 

Was there ever a mexican who wasnt overrated because he was mexican?

 

Im not saying JMM has a cast iron chin but it is decent. He can be put down but i have never seen him in serious trouble. Pacquiao put him down 3 times and he wasnt even hurt (well he might have been after the last KD but ot badly)

JMM Chin is horrible, he stand because of the heart and will of a lion but his chin is WEAK .... Daniel Zaragoza is another option

Good shout. He was down against Vic, that is one thing, but he suffered a very heavy knockdown against Kawashima in their first fight too. Of course, he rallied back to actually get a decision in Japan, no idea how, but he still went down heavily. Kawashima can punch, but Mijares would not be your typical Mexican when discussing punch resistance.

Marquez is a funny one for me. Forget about the Norwood fight, only the very best fighters in the world have knocked him down. He walked into the Barrera right hand, and Pacquiao was a dynamic puncher at 126 and 130 so no disagrace there. Perhaps the way he was badly wobbled against Diaz is a reason to call his chin into question, though? Not a bad chin, but not a Mexican chin.

You'll find some okay Mexican fighters who will go down from shots, but the top flight Mexicans all seem to have great chins. Barrera, Morales, Marquez, and of course Chavez and Sanchez had cast iron.

 

I think Marquez has a decent enough chin.

I agree with the JMM shout as in he doesn't have a great chin, as has been mentioned already, his will to win is of the most formiddable i've seen.

 

Fernando Vargas had an average chin. When he got hurt he was basically done.

 

After the Trinidad fight yes. Before that, no way. I can't believe he took some of those punches from Trinidad. Yeah, that fight ruined him for sure.
