Was on vacation for a couple weeks. Laptop has been broken for a year or so now, so I had to live off my ladies computer so I didn't have time to browse really. How've you been?

    :good my bad.
I'm getting why Floyd fans are getting hate recently, and I've been hating on some of the ****sucking fans like cereal lobotomy who I can't stand, but I still have to defend one of my favorite boxers.

yeah some of these floyd fans are saying dumb **** like no one should criticize floyd for fighting berto or mayfield next, and accusing me of being a floyd hater since I said it would be terrible for the sport if they fought on ppv. I really can't understand this level of bandwagoning, if they're actually on the money team and work for floyd I understand that they're just doing their job, if not just wow, they annoy me more than hans, aquamarine, etcs nationalism.

Would there be ducking if money wasn't a factor?

It'd be even worse. Money is the only thing that convinces people to taking fights they have no hope to win.

There has always been ducking, but many fans don't appreciate what happens behind the scenes, and the fact that every fighter has a different set of circumstances surrounding them.

The word 'duck' gets thrown around far too easy for my liking. There's lots of factors that block good fights. You have rival TV networks, rival boxing organisations, rival promoters etc. A promoter may want future options, or may not agree on the PPV split etc. It's a very complex business. And it's definitely more of a business than it is a sport.

But a lot of the time, the above factors get overlooked. Also, fighter A may desperately want to fight fighter B, and fighter B may not be interested. Now it maybe down to a duck. But it could be down to wanting a bigger or better fight, or there maybe other factors involved.

If a fighter gets accused of ducking someone, I always try and find out as much info as possible, and see who they went on to fight instead.

But we currently live in a very inpatient society, and if a fight doesn't happen, it's automatically assumed that one guy was scared.

But as well as looking at potential road blocks, you have to view things objectively from each fighters perspective.

Here are a few examples of fights that didn't get made between some great british fighters:

Steve Collins didn't want to fight Joe Calzaghe. Because at the time, he wasn't motivated to fight a young up and comer like Joe, because he wanted a Roy Jones fight.

Joe Calzaghe didn't want to fight Carl Froch who was a young up and comer, because he wanted to have big fights at LHW.

Carl Froch has just vacated his titles, and he didn't want to face James DeGale.

So Carl is now in the position that Joe was in back in 2008.

When James DeGale gets into his mid to late 30's, they maybe a guy who wants to fight him, but he may not be interested in them.

    And the cycle continues.

Again, everyone's circumstances are different. But I don't believe that any of the guys I've mentioned, were scared of fighting.

There's also a big difference between ducking a guy out of a fear of losing to him, and dismissing a fighter for other reasons.
