Was there any fighter in history with Duran`s reach and height that could have beaten Hearns?

    yeah it is that simple. but the New Orleans Duran ate too much so he would be hit with the jab and right hands. .

    Can a short armed fighter really get inside on a prime Hearns without being KO`d? D`Amato told Tyson when showing him footage of Frazier being crushed by Foreman that it was suicide a short armed fighter coming forwards against a longer armedd puncher like Foreman because you will be in his punching range before you can get your range, all Hearns needed was to get one right hand in and it would be all over.

    a fighter can win. Duran hit Hearns with a couple of right hands and he took Hearns punch well. I mean there are guys with Hearns reach and height who would lose to a guy Duran's height and reach, but Hearns had speed. It was not the reach only, it was using that reach and having a speed and jab. So as Hearns said Duran had to fight the arms. Most guys who fought Hearns knew you had to take punches in order to beat him. I remember a sports illustrated article once saying these are the 3 men who beat Hearns, and it showed. Leonard,Hagler and Barkley all swollen and cut. I think it was from 1989. So you had to take punishment to beat him. It was never easy. Big guys or small.

    Yes and all three had better reaches than Duran too.

    The Montreal Duran beats Hearns at 147, Tommy wasn't physically strong at that weight and Duran REALLY moved at 147.
