Bernard Hopkins at the age of 49 YEARS OLD, still competing at this stage of his career against younger fighters.

Watch Hopkins vs Pavlik then this fight

He was nowhere near as good as he was back then speed or power, his workrate was low aswell he didnt look as good as the Murat fight

Thing about Hopkins is if you're still on illegal stuff at 49 couldnt you easily have heart attacks or side effects

So there was no strict testing for this fight?, well it's just at his age competing and dominating at age 49 against younger fighters is questionable.

I wouldn't be surprised by anything in this day and age, unfortunately. But watching this fight, Shumenov appears to be the bigger, stronger athlete. However, Hopkins is more athletic when it comes to fluidity, skills, counter punching, etc. These are things that PED's don't necessarily help with. In addition, if you look at his body, while it's extremely impressive for a 50 year old....there is a difference between his and the other contenders in his division.

Exactly. Steroids will make you bigger, faster, stronger, etc. I don't know of any that make you have a higher sports IQ. It's pretty clear when looking at B-Hops body that he doesn't exactly lift heavy weights or do killer ab workouts. He's crafty and you can see that by the angles he takes and feints he uses. He is brilliant.

Literally next to Butterbean, the last guy I would think of using roids.

BHop will have some serious damage done soon
He has to stop acting like he's an "alien" and grow up
If Stevenson doesn't knock him senseless, a Kovalev fight
    will.
    He looked slow to me
and very tentative in the beginning-he's done

shumenov had 15 pro fights, is slow and plodding. Tailor made for Bernard which is why Bernard wanted the fight.

    You are right.

These fools don't realize what they are talking about.

They think that PEDs are some kind of holy grail and just because they need them to compete, that everybody does.
Hopkins Genetics are all he needs to perform like this, along with a good diet, rest and training.
    PEDs have serious side effects.

I think that Hopkins could have performed as he did against Murat but choose to play it safe as he makes his way towards real unification, and history.

    none.

Before BHOP, Foreman held the oldest champion record and I think he was 45 or there about.

Shumenov has never had a boxing trainer, not even boxing lessons, what a joke, no wonder he lost to Campillo............Kovalev would have knocked Shumenov out in the first round. Kovalev will knock Hopkins out if they were to ever fight which I doubt. I don't think Hopkins can beat Stevenson either, Kovalev knocks them both out though........Kovalev should sign with Showtime, then Stevenson, Hopkins would move to HBO..........
