Thought that this morning while coming across an Ali short on youtube about how Frazier didnt stop coming at him.

Frazier had a lot of heart. Even against Foreman and in Manilla, he always kept going.
He would rather die than quit.

You also have the likes of Gatti, Fury, Marciano, JMM and Ali himself having a lot of heart.
But I would like to highlight Danny Williams for fighting AND winning with a dislocated shoulder.

If you ever dislocate your shoulder you will know how insane the pain is. Let alone be im a real fight and even win it.
That will always be the most heart displayed inna fight for me personally.

Doesn't hurt too bad if it's a re-occurring issue that you're used to like Williams had. People with messed up joints can face it and it's not too bad when your ligaments are stretched.

The real example of heart is all of the men who will die in the ring. Nothing ever surpasses having your brain rocked around your skull. I'd have a dislocated shoulder every day.

I had it and it hurt like hell everytime till it automatically popped back in again.

Might sound weird but dying in the ring isnt showinh more heart than going all out.
You could die as a result from that or live, but the heart shown remains the same.

Frazier and Ali in Manilla define heart in boxing fights for example where a guy like say Benny Paret was very unlucky to die from that fight.

Great post man, made me think about Kim Duk-koo and the Ray Mancini fight. Remember watching that fight when it happened. That was insane. That dude had an amazing heart.

Probably should have stopped that fight.

It's the competative ones where they are beating each others brains out but neither man shows any quit. Hell Chisora Pulev last month was a slog fest. Brutal. Men have no business taking them kinds of punches.

In a single fight I always go back to Arthur Abraham getting to the end of his battle with Edison Miranda with a broken jaw bringing up gruesome looking black blood - and it was the 4th round it was bust up IIRC.

Everytime I go back and watch that I still don't know how Abraham made it to the end - insane, especially give that Miranda could bang, and was targetting it afterwards.

    True warrior-heart that one!

Frazier had heart in abundance hell yeah.

But imagine the unsung journeyman fighter who "Has gumshield will fight" mentality, offered up as cannon fodder, a stepping stone etc for every up and coming fighter, taking the shots for not best of purses, with expectation you will lose, that sure does take heart.

In the biggest HW fight in history on March 8, 1971 Smokin Joe Frazier came up with his greatest effort ever and emerged victorious over the greatest fighter ever and you can never take that away from him.
