:-( Absolute bull****, Mitchell is just nowhere near as good as Burns, I didn't buy into the whole 'I wasn't prepared nonsense' after the Katsidis fight either, It was just an excuse, Katsidis gave him a whooping because he was simply the better fighter.

    Agreed.

He was mouthing off on Twatter a while back about the amount that Burns was reportedly getting for this fight.... and was considering walking away a short while before the deal was eventually done.

Despite being happy with his lot, Burns was getting too much - i.e. more than him.

Kid is done!!. He wont be able to walk the streets of east end without being getting barbaric stick for losing to a man who wears pink. Will take a lot of sole searching lads you gots to sit back and examine this. Mitch is a good kid just wont be a world champion but no probs get your self a trade and get head down son.

Im not basing it on just two fights my friend, Burns and Katsidis are better , but the retirement point is based on my belief that he fights twice a year in his prime and doesnt look interested.

That's a wider problem with boxing, and part of the reason the average ability of even journeymen is a lot lower than it used to be.

Kev was a fighter that a few years back I though would do very well at lightweight and be a title holder at least, the Prescott performance was a good one and I don't care what anyone says because most people were picking him to get destroyed by Prescott, and afterwards were saying he'd beat Amir Khan.

It's a shame though because he hasn't improved like I thought he would, and it's once again down to mentality and his ****ed up lifestyle.

People take the **** out of "well prepared mitchell" but the thing is, he doesn't live the life, and thats why he's the same fighter if not worse than he was against Prescott, and certainly hasn't grown.

I think he'll do ok at european level, maybe a gatekeeper who gets the odd title shot every few years, but I don't see anything more, which is sad.

Even living the lifestyle wouldn't give him a chin.

A guy like Kelly Pavlik doesn't live the lifestyle either, but can take a punch.

That's Mitchell's main downfall against Kat and Burns, he just doesn't have much punch resistance.

The whole "lifestyle" argument is just an excuse. Mitchell simply isn't a world class fighter.

Wladamir Klitschko has god awful punch resistance and in his early days was wild, sloppy and wide open.

    but he lived the lifestyle

it doesn't always make the difference but sometimes it does.

like I say Kev will never learn so it doesnt really matter

Wlad has always trained hard, and lived the lifestyle of a fighter. He simply changed his style.

Wlad's chin is still God awful, I assure you.

Only difference now is he fights passive/defensive as Hell, whereas in his early career he was far more aggressive and offensive minded.

And WHY does he fight passive nowadays? To protect that God awful chin!

In any case, Mitchell simply isn't near as talented/skilled as Wlad anyway, so it makes no difference.
