I think that Terrible Tim Witherspoon is a top 30 heavyweight, he was a WBA Heavyweight Champion, he fought the likes of Larry Holmes and Frank Bruno. A very talented heavyweight, good defense, and a good overhand right hand.
IDK, maybe in my top thirty. Even if u don't consider him top 30, on any given night, he could beat any heavyweight that ever lived. He was that good.
yea, I loved that fight, I loved how Tim fought that fight. He was very slick and crafty when he wanted to be
For fighters with significant activity after 1980, I have Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis, Wilder, Fury, Joshua, Foreman, McCall, Rahman, and both K bros ahead. And he'd be just barely ahead of Brewster, Thomas, Byrd, Povetkin and Michael Spinks. So that's 13. And he'd obviously be behind Ali, Frazier, Liston, Patterson, Marciano, Dempsey, Louis, and Jack Johnson. That's 21 Then Jeffries, Norton, Corbett, Wills, Tunney, Schmeling, Eliis and Ezzard Charles might be ahead. So that's 29 if you count every one ahead of him, which they probably dont all deserve. So yes probably top 30.
I would say in terms of a pile of big wins as well as for longevity, Tim is definitely in the top 30. Not the most original fighting style tho.
