There's no point DK, Uli is going to bump his breakdown until the thread dies.

I wish they'd rematched before it was all said and done instead of moving up in weight to take fights they had no prayer of winning.

Vargas was not a borderline 147 pounder himself!!!

that is the most ridiculous post anyone has put in this thread and you are obviously out of your mind, or don't know what the hell you're talking about. VARGAS HAD TROUBLE MAKING 154 AND WAS BIG FOR THE WEIGHT CLASS, HOW IN THE BLOODY HELL DID THAT MAKE HIM A BORDERLINE WELTERWEIGHT? THAT'S ABSURD!! And vargas was a very good fighter in 2000 WHEN TITO FOUGHT HIM!!!

And tito not having longevity at 160 is not the point. You said he couldn't carry his power. That his stenght & power was hardly a factor. That's what you said. He knocked guys out at 54 and knocked out joppy for a 160 lb title. Nobody else at 160 ever knocked him out at that time, and joppy was an average sized middleweight!!

    nuff said.

Nice attempt, but you lost. No matter how you put it, today and 50 years from now, every poll will ALWAYS show you that Oscar beat Trinidad that night. See I'm a real fight fan, and UNLIKE you, I don't need a judge to tell me who won a fight.

Oscar fought many more top fighters, and even if you minus both fighters losses, Oscar still has more quality fighters than Tito under his belt.

Oscar was never dominated in his prime like Tito was.

Oscar was a 6 time division champ. Tito a 3 div champ.

Oscar has been champion again three time more than Tito, that means 10X for DLH, 3X for Tito.

Oscar has fought AND BEAT 20 world champions or former champions, Tito only 7.

Oscar only fought half the time at WW and still fought better comp and has only 5 less defense at WW than Tito, but as a whole career wise Oscar has 25 Titles fights won, Tito has 18, out of Tito's 18, 15 have been at WW, and his most notable names there are only: Camacho, Campas, Carr, Whitaker, and DLH with a HUGE * (asterik).

DLH has accomplsihed more, if you can't see that you're a huge nut-hugger or a huge hater. :good

:nono:nonoNO WAY!! But to answer the thread Tito was definetly a great Fighter. But Id rate Delahoya around 25 to 30 on atg pfp list and Tito around 40.

It's funny when you spew out DLH's "accomplishments" you can't argue with what you're saying, but you come off sounding like this guy's spokesman or something, almost political like your trying to win an election or something...

Interestingly enough even though I've watched ALL of their fights live, I popped in EACH of their career DVDs in hopes of appeciating Oscar more, but it's obvious to the eye that Tito was BY FAR the more entertaining fighter to watch, but I respect Oscar for his accomplishments..

honestly, it depends on what you mean by great. Seems there's a train of thought that you have to be a Golden Great to be great. Or an ATG. Or ultra adptable in style. Truth is, Tito was a great fighter, and warrior. Even if some claim he was one dimensional. No, he will never be seen as the best ever, but so will a ton of other great fighters.

Whitaker wasn't the same fighter when he fought Trinidad, Whitaker was coming over a year layoff after the drug situation in which he was suspended. The last time Whitaker was atleast at his best even past his prime was the De la hoya fight. Whitaker was ranked i believe number 1 p4p when he fought De la hoya. De la hoya beat undefeated Quartey. Sure many say Quartey should got the decision but many say Oscar won that fight. Who has Trinidad beat that wasn't a done fighter at 147 pounds that is better then Quartey? :think

:nono No Oscar was considered pfp best at one time,TIto was not.Pernell was way past his prime when he fought Tito and you know it. So quit grasping at straws. Pernell that fought Oscar was still a great fighter and regardless of what people tell you Oscar won that fight and Idont feel it was controversial at all!

He never fought against Quartey when Ike was one of the top 3 in the welterweight division during that time and Oscar fought and beat Quartey and clearly beat Tito so IMO that ranks Oscar higher just by that, he has also fought Mosley in which he was robbed in their second fight. And in his big fights(he hasn't had many) Tito hasn't fared any better than Oscar.

People act as if Oscar never fought below 147. Oscar beat many world class fighters, champions, and former champions below 147.

    Oscar was a monster at 147, 140, 135, 130.
