Every fighter has an Achilles heel.
Hearns was his legs. It was noticeable
against Leonard as early as the 6th rd
    in their 1st fight.
As early as the very 1st rd against
    Hagler, his legs were buckling.
The issue popped up against Roldan
and Barkley were he was very unsteady
    on his feet when pressured.
The problem was 95% of the boxers
    in history, especially at welterweight
    couldn't exploit that weakness.
    His offensive skills, overwhelming
    combination of height ,reach, speed,
and power, made it an almost
impossible task for all but the
very best fighters in history at welterweight
    Jr.Middlweight.
And a great many middleweights and
    Lt. heavys.
I don't believe it was lack of experience
against Leonard, but the 1st time we
saw a chink in his armor .
