he never won a world title, hagler was in his and a lot of top middles way at that time, he koed alan minter who had been a uk world champ, very good puncher with left hook in paticular, imo he would have destroyed the likes of barker and macklin, and much as i don't like saying it that covers lee as well, i think he would have sparked williams at any time in his career, men like danny jacobs were to weak to beat him, i would be very suprised , if his day was now, that he woulden't be world champ. IVE ONLY SEEN BLACK AND WHITE clips of turpin though he was a very good fighter, so i will say after him as its harder to judge when its before my lifetime.:good

Sibson was a good fighter but I think Herol Graham was probably better.

Graham and Minter were better. (though Minter was flattened by Sibson so its certainly debateable).
Terry Downes may not have been better but he at least was briefly world champ.

    Graham wasn't really "since Turpin".

Minter and Downes edge him; IMO.

But Sibbo was hugely popular and may of briefly been the second finest Middleweight in the world, sadly for him and his fans, he had a Marvelous adversary...

Graham hit middleweight as Sibson was starting to come to the end of his career. Graham was chasing the match but there was no real chance of Sibbo fighting a guy like Graham when he didn't really have to.
