No doubt America had some brilliant talent in the HW division in the 80's, some who Mike never got around to facing. But when Mike got coined "The baddest man on the planet" during that decade, was he even the baddest man in America, considering the homegrown talent in the HW division back then? :think
I don't know what "baddest" means. But Buster Douglas was American, and Tyson did get around to facing him, and he lost, so I see what you mean.
Yes. Bad = feared, dangerous, intimidating. Whether you like his competition or not, on his way up to the belts he left them lying in spectacular fashion.
During the period of 1986 or so until the second month of 1990, Mike Tyson was indeed the baddest man in the WORLD, never mind just the U.S.A.
