Wilder looked a beaten man most of the fight, Fury was robbed, he outboxed wilder and defied his power. It’s a discrace he wasn’t rewarded for this, instead they reward the losing fighter by enabled his to keep the belts. He is not the real champion, it’s sad. Respect to wilder as he did show heart himself but he lost.

The first 5 or 6 rounds featured nothing to point to where either man could be said to have definitely taken a round, I had no problem with a draw. Geez, I thought Wilder was gassed out after 10

 

Fair enough. I tend to reserve the word robbery for the very worst decisions (@IntentionalButt will confirm that there are routinely many far worse decisions in smaller events all over the world), so for me I'd call it home-cooking or similar.

Rounds: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11 were rounds where regardless of who connected more, the fighters were separated by 2 or fewer landed punches. The 3rd and 10th were the only definitive Fury rounds, per landed punches. That being said, I predicted Fury would make it a stinker and win a decision, and he could have been given the nod but he wasn't. He got dropped twice, he spent a lot of the fight inactive, he never really took any chances going for the win, he tried to do just enough to get by and it cost him (kind of). I agree that aesthetically Fury won because he imposed his fight on Wilder, they fought at his pace, he was the boss, and I respect that. In terms of the scoring, if you leave 8 rounds essentially even in terms of landed punches you run the risk of not winning a decision. Especially when you get dropped twice, are the challenger, and are on the road. The draw was fair, it just hurt haters feelings.

 

Did Fury do well in those rounds?

 

I don’t care if it’s off by 1 point or 10, robbery is robbery, providing there was a clear winner. If I steal £10 from a cashier at a bank, or £1,000,000 from a cashier at a bank, they are both still robberies. You just have to ask yourself, did Fury clearly win that fight. For me it’s a yes.

Sometimes you’ll hear that old cliche, “some of the rounds were close”. Yes, but close rounds can still be conclusive, as was the case for a couple of rounds in that fight.

 

C’mon it’s not fair to use stats, facts, reason and logic. That’s very underhanded! Paulie said Fury won, and that it was a miscarriage of justice of epic proportions. Don’t shatter the illusion

I was there. The entire crowd thought he won a close fight. We all came to this decision with out eyes and without commentary that could have swayed us.

He won 8 rounds on my scorecard. There were a few close ones, but there's no way in hell Wilder won 7. Had multiple judges scored it 7-5 Fury and a legitimate draw, I wouldn't be complaining due to the close rounds.

 

I had wilder up 3-2 after 5 and think having either guy up 4-1 or 5-0 is defendable. It is in the 2nd half that Fury took control outside of 2 careless lapses that cost him a potential win. I don’t think the judging was bad even though I had it 113-113
