Lets say Tyson stuck with Rooney and stayed focused on achieving HW glory until the end of his career before self destructing. His main advantages over the other HW was his technique and his speed.

Would he have remained successful if he kept on fighting at 30+? or even 28+?

With Lewis,Bowe and Holyfield looming around the corner in the 90s, its extremely hard to see him go undefeated, he'd likely lose at some point, even with Rooney in his corner.

He would've been successful for as long as he took care of his body.

i think he would have retierd by 30 maybe with a couple of loses maybe not? but a **** load of defences and possibly considered the GOAT. but either way he was only fighting for money after holy, but he wouldnt need to if he had stayed with rooney ect so he would have been able to be to retire. but it wasnt to be so we will never know.

He wouldn't of lost to someone like Douglas but he would of taken a loss most likely to one of the top guys like bowe Lewis or Holyfield

yeah, just like world history fantasy "what if's" like, if the berlin wall had fallen 50 years earlier, tyson, ali, lewis and holmes would have never been heard of:rofl:rofl:rofl.

With Tyson's head movement and speed, i think only Lewis would've had a chance. Even then, based on his fight with a sloppy Tua, i can see Tyson winning a UD.

He would of gone on to beat Marciano's record for sure.. None of these fighters mentioned would of lived with a 100% fit and focused Iron Mike, :smoke:smoke

Tyson was an accident waiting to happen, with his background and some of the parasites surrounding him the envitable happened.
Had he been mentored properly and protected from the parasites he may have enjoyed a longer career at the top,but Bowe,Lewis and Holyfield would always have had his number in the ring.

    Pretty much.

Short, swarming heavyweights don't have a particularly long shelf-life. Tyson was also extremely active during his first few years. He already had 42 bouts before he even went to prison. That's a career in itself.

some one else on here in a diff thread talked about other Cus fighters burning out early because the style they uses doesnt suit longevity and cant be done for very long or as you get older

Tyson was gonna implode eventually, hes a 20 yr old kid with fame, sex, drugs, booze, cameras, autographs, no privacy

someone that young just cant go on living a normal life with all that thrown in your face and then have to perform like a world class athlete, its like those child actors

plus the 90's got tougher- Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, Moorer, Foreman, Mercer, Morrisson, and more

He got gobbled up by Don King than if not King another leech back stabbing promoter and an army of hanger ons

If he stayed fit and did not age fast, he remains, destroys Lewis or anyone else who came along.

Since he matured so fast, he might have peaked by age 23. By 30, for him, a guy who matured fast and relied on speed as much as power, he might have slowed down enough for those coming along to beat him. Then of course he would have to stay away from drinking and other stuff leading to his downfall.
