I have seen the fight two times now and i can clearly see he is not even making a conscious effort to go for the brutal head shots inspite of having numerous opportunities to do so. He however made full use of all the body shot opportunities that came his way.

Clearly the promoters and organizers told him not to go for the KO

It looked that way. Tyson did not want to hurt Roy. His post fight, 'we are humanatarians now' confirmed it.

It was a show not a sporting event. Did people buy because they expected a fight? Or because they like the cast? Will they be able to repeat?

Yes. He was instructed not to go for a knockout. That was one of the rules. (LOL) No knockouts. It was an exhibition.

Any Tyson fight which ends without a KO is a failure on his part

It was a sparring session, which is why its called an exhibition.
Commentators and all came straight of of the WWE.

Though it was a sparring session, both played it like a fight where they're trying to establish foot an arm positions.
If you want to judge it by those means, I thought Tyson clearly outperformed Jones by putting himself in better position to punch and defend.
