Mental and physical midget, exposed against better comp at the dawn of the SHW era.

Great fighter who burned brightly during his run, but extremely overrated head to head.

My Tyson was groomed to be a badazz in the ring by Cus watching films of Dempsey and Foreman. that wasn't his real personality. He liked pigeons , his phony personality fell apart against Douglas

Complacency and laziness are not the same as being physically shot.

his skillset took a major hit after losing kevin rooney . it is odvious and quite clear. add to that fighting 30 lbs above his normal weight took a massive toll on him as well.

Not physically shot, just no longer as good technically and fighting higher level opponents.

This. Mikes mind deteriorated long before any of his physical skills and abilities did. Mike Tyson had a chance to be the greatest fighter we`ve ever scene had he not destroyed himself. Imagine if he had beaten all the big names in the early and mid 90s? So many huge fights he couldve had its nuts to imagine what couldve been. Prime Mike vs Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis,Foreman,Moorer,Morrison.

    Coke-kane!

The scourge of the late 70s early 80's, damn near gutted the NBA.

Post prison/Rooney Tyson gave much much less time training bob and weave defense and combination punching offense for simply in your face pressure fighting and outright slugging.

Someone said it earlier, 1980s/Rooney Tyson training regime would have been incredibly physically and mentally demanding, anyone who had Tysons style would have eventually given up on it, its no surprise at all Tyson succumbed to back injuries.
