Was Tyson really a great puncher, or just a fast/accurate puncher?

Any clueless douchebag (like Remember CS) who thinks that Tyson had only average power, doesn't know anything about boxing.

The poll here is well answered and overwhelmingly agrees Tyson had both incredible speed and power.

Trolls with a clear agenda like CS need to leave this forum.

I have no agenda whatsoever, contrarily to peoples like you :deal

In fact, i am one of the most unbiased users here. I always analyze things with my head, i never let media hype to corrupt my observations.

I am free in my decisions, something you'll probably never be.

And Tyson power WAS average, or just above average. Everybody can knock out cans. Tyson's mythological one-punch-ko-power never was there against non shot champions. One of the reasons Tyson failed every time he stepped up.

Anyway you can always just respect my freedom to say things.

Unless those things stings you with the TRUTH.

Your Anti-Tyson agendas are well documented.

And rarely backed up with the "truth", or even accurate facts.

Holmes in the post fight interview said he was the most effective puncher he faced. He had speed, very strong punching power, combinations and very accurate, no lucky punches.

Now that is a more deadly combo compared to some one who throws the most powerful one punch at a time but inaccurate punches.

It also depends on leverage and pivot. If Tyson places his feet, back leg in the the right position which gives him maximum power, leverage in the right hand, the victim is not going to get up for a considerable time.

I remember seeing a post fight analysis of holyfield Tyson 1 where all the boxing experts discussed all the technical details that Evanders infighting technique was much better where as Tyson feet were parallel therefore giving him no leverage in his punches while holyfield beautifully tied him on the inside and Tyson was unable to punch out because he couldn't get the right power in his hands because his footwork, technique was flawed.

Prime Mike Tyson had it all.
