did tyson lose to douglas because he didnt train or did douglas just present a style problem that took advantage of tysons peek a boo style deficiencies

I just watched the tyson movie and he goes into detail about what was going on.
however a guy like Douglas would always give tyson problems.

There were a lot of factors. The biggest one being that Tyson was able to intimidate almost all of his opponents, but Busters mom had just died and he didn't care, he wasn't scared at all. Buster stood up to him and I think that kind of shocked Mike and changed the fight. Later on Mike's lack of conditioning came into effect.

Even his corner was doing everything wrong using a Ice balloon instead of a no swell for his eye!

I'd say Tyson would beat the crap out of Buster 99 times of a hundred he wasn't a 100% in that fight...

Lots of factors. Prime Tyson beats Douglas, even the version that showed up in Tokyo.

Undertrained, that was the story of the fight imo, Tyson was very inactive.

In his ducumentary he admits that he undertrained for fighters ever since about the time he beat Spinks. I've also heard him claim that he did nothing in Japan but **** Japanese girls. Ahh, to be tyson.

Tyson was well trained, Douglas was just better that night.

Gotta take into account Douglas was in the hape of his life and properly motivated cuz of his mother's passing.

Unlike Tyson who was just having fun.

Tyson was way overconfident, unfocused, training half-assed,,, and partying in the geisha houses the week of the fight.. he definately wasn't in shape for a long tough fight like that.

Plus, Buster was in a different zone mentally because his mom just died,,, He wasn't intimidated or scared like most of Mikes opponents at that time.

He didn't give a fk... and he was ready to walk through fire to kick somebody's ass that night... which he did.

If you've lost your ma, you'll know the feeling I'm talking about.
Buster was a tough out for anybody on that night IMO.

Douglas was overlooked by Tyson. Douglas was one hell of a fighter. He had all the tools and if he had some disipline and a good trainer, who knows. Also, too much drama with wife and other outside situations as far as Mike goes.

Out of curiousity, would that Douglas beat a prime Lewis?
