i think this is bull**** ****. Yes Tyson had fear, but it was to lose. I you think he would faceholyfield for the second time if what you saying was true? The answer is NO!

anyone remember donnie longs **** eating grin as he winked at the camera? he wasn't scared going up against tyson (the guy was a murderer) but he still got demolished in a round.

tyson was mentally weak, but that didn't mean that if you just looked him in the eyes you'd won the fight, you also had to beat him up, which was pretty hard to do.

What I'm looking for, really, is a specific fight where I can see this.

Watch his ****ing fights from the beginning to the end and watch documentaries about him and his life. It's not like there is a shortage of info on the ****ing guy for **** sakes

just because he cant win certain matches he is dumb? in a weird way i think he is too intelligent, he sees that he cant win the fight, not because he doesn't want to win or because he cant be ****ed with it he just knows he wont win, he took beatings in all his losing efforts as well.

put it in comparison to evander, still fighting, still thinks he will will his way to a title shot. wading aimlessly. if he wins a title again i'm pretty sure he would continue.

his style doesn't bode well against inside fighters who are used to an inside fight and excel at it. his style is based on short bursts of combo's if the other guy is low and tight enough to take the shots and still be in position. he cant out box the guy, he cant spark the guy out because he cant get him into a position to hit him hard enough.does he quit. yes. but not without a shellacking.

nah the "if you stand up to him you beat him" is just categorising his style and his personality.

being confident is only half the story. You gotta also have the skills in the ring. Tyson was very skilled.

He was a young man with a lot of emotional baggage, and was never the same once he returned from prison. After Cus D'amato died he seemed to go off the rails.

Whether you would class a young man from a very troubled and violent upbringing, going astray after his mentor and father figure died as 'weak willed' is up to you..

I like this post. Tyson had a strong will but not the strongest.

Will was NOT his problem, he lacked the dedication, and work ethic to stay on top.

When Cus was alive Mike was extremely focused and single minded. All he had on his mind was tearing off heads. After Cus died, followed by Mike hooking up with Robin Givens, Tyson lost all focus, and his mind was like Chinese food, all mixed up.

Tyson fought nobody's and once he faced a live heavyweight he lost, simple as that. Watching a good fighter beat down tomato cans is exciting, but that fighter needs to beat down real fighters to be great. Tyson was never great.

:patsch Spinks, Tucker, Thomas, and Bruno were all better than Douglas, he won the title and cleaned house in the 80s, beating all the live HWs of those days, he just lacked the focus to keep it up.
