Before you flame me for asking this question. I personally don't think it was a close fight at all. I think after 3 rounds Usyk was clearly controlling the fight. I scored it 9-3. But most of the responses I get on certain websites like youtube discussing the fight are people saying Chisora deserves a rematch or it was a close fight. I get called an Usyk fanboy for clearly pointing out that, although Usyk didn't destroy Chisora, he was clearly the better fighter. 9-3 was the correct score. Usyk wasn't out of 2nd gear and still won clearly. It was not close and anyone who suggests it could have gone either way is dreaming. Usyk provided almost all the real quality in the fight, Chisora worked hard but he was never going to beat Usyk using his tactics. Chisora vs Whyte was my idea of a close fight. Parker vs Chisora 1 was close. Usyk vs Chisora was not close.
Yes till Usyk took over Usyk could have got into gear earlier but chose the wise route of avoiding a bullish Chisora early waiting for him to slow. Sometimes losing a few rounds is the best tactical option.
8-4 Usyk, so not really Chisora won at least 3 of the first 4 rounds, but after that, Usyk took over and it was pretty comfortable for him from then on
How 9-3 is close fight ? Someone pushing BS agenda again. It was very poor performance from Usyk, but still he won 9 rounds.
I agree that Usyk never got into high gear but I also believe he almost gave the fight away doing that. I think I had it 7-5 and wouldn't have been too upset to see a draw. It was similar to how Loma performed vs Lopez, but Chisora wasn't quite able to steal enough rounds. A lot of amateur standouts do this during their career. I also wonder if there was a playing possum/not showing AJ what he could do aspect to the performance.
8-4 Usyk slow of off the blocks, but never in danger of losing. Kind of close, but a lot down to how Usyk tactically set up
