Was Vitali still using PED's when he fought Lewis?

It's highly likely. I heard he used them to enlarge his glass heart.

Boxing is too lax on these drug cheats. In the Olympics they hand out life bans. Boxing is a lot more dangerous than athletics and the consequences could prove fatal. Vitali is a disgrace and should not be allowed in a boxing ring again, just like all other the PED abusers.

Lewis is not a self-confessed drugs cheat, so I thinks it's unlikely.

any boxer caught using PEDs should be banned for life and stuck from the records. Looking at RJJ, Toney, Mosley etc as far as I am concerned they can throw their titles away cause they won them by cheating.

Do we know which specific steroid he was caught with, because I am not buying that explanation?

You can probably find it if you do the research. I don't think it really matters what brand of steroid he cheated with.

The real ***** of it is, Mosley was never caught - per say - atleast by one of boxings drug test. Only when the lab making the ped gets busted did he get tangled in.

If he used steroids in the amateurs its naturally he'd use it in the pros where the stakes are higher

I think this is safe to assume. As far as I'm concerned the only difference between the amateurs and pro's is that he didn't get caught as a professional.

It's ironic that he was thrown out of an old soviet-block Olympic team for using peds. Those Eastern Europeans used to shoot steroids like it was going out-of-fashion (and it was normally their coaches providing it). Can you imagine what a chronic PED-junky Vitali must have been for them to bust him and kick him off the team?

    A shameful episode.

Haters gonna hate. But doctors records are legally available prior to competition by all ABCS, and the Olympic Commissions.

Vitali has a torn calve muscle and went to HIS DOCTOR for treatment. When he discovered the drug the doctor prescribed was on the banned list, he came clean and admitted to having used it during training. He still took the chance of being clean soas he could compete, but the drug he used stayed in his system for up to 6 weeks, and he had only quit using it 3 weeks prior to testing.

IMO, he should have simply withdrawn from the Olympic team, but his coaches urged him to at least try to pass the test citing the use was one time, and he could prove he had not used it to cheat, but to heal.

Same goes for Toney. He didn't go to some lab making roids that were undetectable, he wnet to his doctor wondering why his strength was diminishing even though he was carbing up and lifting like a SOB......he had lab test done to show he had the testosterone levels of a 65 y/o man. His doctor promptly treated him for LOW-T and he didn't quit in time to pass his tests.

It's not like EPO where the usage enhances performance weeks, even months later....the effects of one time steroid use goes away w/i about 3 weeks, and long term usage results in diminished strength and weight gain, and weakens joints, tendons catilage and about everything else.

Had Vitali been using roids all along, he's be a cripple about now, or a 300lb blimp.

But like I said......HATERS gonna HATE.
